CYBERSOURCE UPGRADE FOR PRIMARY ARMS
GIR and Primary arms teams have upgraded the legacy instance of CyberSource to the latest hybrid CyberSource – A Visa Solution – SuiteApp for NetSuite in just one and a half months for one of the biggest online web stores currently hosting on SuiteCommerce Advanced.
Known Challenges that required our team to work on upgrade project
Our customer implemented CyberSource legacy payment processing profile solution in 2015-2016, and ever since then CyberSource has released multiple updates. It was important to plan for the upgrade to resolve some known challenges listed below.
- With the legacy CyberSource payment processing instance, our web store could not authorize all credit card transactions. Some transactions were failed to authorize due to an old payment processing instance.
- The legacy CyberSource gateway integration could not work with newly generated and protected security keys. There was no password field to enter the password within the legacy CyberSource integration.
- The old legacy profile required us to renew the security key file every 2 years which is not a limitation with the new SuiteApp Rest Key ID and Secret Key.
- With the new SuiteApp, our customer is in a better position to leverage some of the latest payment methods (SuitePayments).

With the new SuiteApp, our team has learned that IP Address, Location and device fingerprint ID information cannot be captured. These data records can help to proactively track orders that require review from the compliance team.
