Does your business have to deal with unprecedented demand for certain categories of items?
No worries! GIR has a solution to address this challenge.
During Covid-19, some of GIR NetSuite customers have witnessed unprecedented demand for certain categories of items they’re selling on SuiteCommerce Advanced webstore with their direct-to-consumer strategy.
When the inventory was replenished to warehouse, we observed a huge spike in the traffic (number of visitors), concurrently more than 2000 customers were shopping all at the same time to buy products. As a result of the high demand, the website ended up selling more than available inventory.
Implementing Daily or Weekly Order Limits in SuiteCommerce Advanced:
To mitigate the risk of overselling, the GIR NetSuite team has worked on a custom solution that requires the merchant to specify a maximum number of inventory units a customer can buy from the customer’s account on a daily basis.
To manage the daily order limit, our team has created a custom record in NetSuite ERP backend. Before enabling a daily order limit for any product, a merchant needs to specify the number of units in the custom record as shown in the screen below.
Once a daily order limit is updated, a customer will see the daily order limit message on a product display page of the website. This message makes a shopper aware of the maximum number of items a customer can purchase on that particular day.
