If your inventory consists of products that have various variations, such as shirts available in different sizes and colors, then NetSuite’s Matrix Items feature is the ideal tool for you. This feature allows you to monitor each combination as a distinct item while maintaining all connections under a single parent record.
What Are Matrix Items in NetSuite?
Matrix items consist of parent items that have associated child items determined by attributes such as size, color, or material. Each unique combination represents a distinct SKU, yet all are linked to the same parent item. For instance, a single t-shirt design may be available in 3 colors and 3 sizes. NetSuite monitors all 9 combinations separately.
