GIR TEAM CUSTOMIZED SHIPWELL INTEGRATION TO FULFILL CUSTOMER NEEDS
To address these challenges, our customer turned to the GIR Team to implement Shipwell integration, which provided them with a tracking capability in a nice and clean interface. Shipwell has the ability to allow businesses to connect their operations with Shipwell logistics platform which enables seamless transportation management, shipping management, real-time visibility, and data synchronization across systems.
- Our team identified how the previous customization worked, took some knowledge/workflow from how it was implemented, and applied it to the new implementation. This also ensured it had little impact on the customer business process flow, as they could continue the process they had previously without too much influence.
- Before delving straight into a solution, the team held requirement-gathering meetings with customers to ensure the team understood the business flow and the expectations of this integration.
- The team also held multiple meetings with the customer and Shipwell vendor to identify technology and the limitations of integrating NetSuite-Shipwell.
The GIR team has worked both incrementally and in phases. Integration considered transactional records and then moved to invoice integration and ocean tracking integration.

- Not all invoices were sourced into NetSuite from Shipwell.
- Naming conventions for vendors were different from those for Shipwell vs. NetSuite.
- The GIR team needed to implement customizations in Shipwell bundle to meet the specific requirements of Our customer.
- Shipwell has an API limitation of only returning 50 results at a time which resulted into the following issues:
